We checked through the company records and realized the amount of experience we have here to draw upon. We always knew it was great but wait till you see these numbers!

Granbury / Hood County EMS has been around in its current organization since 2002. We employ a full time staff of four administrators, eleven full time medics, and nineteen part time medics. We have a combined total of 34 employees who rack up an impressive 280.5 years of EMS experience, with 149 years of it being here in Granbury and Hood County! The average G/HC EMS medic has 8 years of experience in EMS, and averages 4 years experience with Granbury and Hood County; while the average administrator has 16 years in EMS with 14 years being here in Granbury and Hood County.

Help us welcome Dr. Yamada as our interim medical director

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Roy Yamada, M.D. has been chosen, and has accepted the position as Medical Director for Granbury/Hood County E.M.S., and the Hood County First Responder Organization. Dr. Yamada joins our organizations beginning on August 12, 2008. Dr. Yamada brings with him, many years of experience and a vast knowledge of pre-hospital emergency medicine. He has many new ideas to enhance our quality paitent care in Hood County.

Dr. Yamada is currently the medical director for Allen, Bedford, DFW Airport, Euless, Hurst, Keller, Midlothian, North Richland Hills, Pantego, Richland Hills, and PHI air medical.

Shift changes prompt strange sitings in granbury...

As of August 3rd Paul Salge will be promoted to the position of Primary Paramedic and will be moving to B shift to fill the Primary slot on Medic 2. Jodi Alvey will also be moving to Medic 1 but staying on B shift. He will be missed by his fellow A-shifters.

HCEMS hires Anna Lemaster and Sarah Landrum...

Anna Lemaster is a graduate of Weatherford College EMT-B Program. She, along with her husband Dale, conducted many of her internship rotations with us and later decided to join the ranks of the HCEMS Medics.

Sarah Landrum is a Paramedic from California with two years of experience in a similar rural EMS service from the mountainous suburbs of Bakersfield. Sarah is currently going through the training process to adjust her to being a Texas paramedic.

Hood County EMS Launches New Website
July 1st, 2008
 

On July 1st the new www.granburyhoodems.com website was launched giving the website a new overhaul. The new website maintains a new and updated photo gallery, a more extensive staff page and a short video clip of us responding to calls on the left of the screen. More content to be coming soon!
